To be able to play Gunship as Multiplayer, you have to install the patch for this. Some things are fixed in the Patch as well, so a better Gunship! all in all.
Click on the "Download Patch" link on the left and download the file gsusptch.zip from our download frame.
Do not download to GS folder, but to Temp or a folder you created for the patch. Reason is folder difference in different countries. Also maybe check out the Unofficial Gunship! FAQ
Then come back here for installation advice. It's not complicated it's just not explained well and different.
We will do our best here, so you can enjoy flying with others and making new mates.
First you unzip your downloaded file and we suggest that you do this by rightclicking on the file and choose the option where u unzip to an underlying folder instead of using the self-extractor. The selfextractor will probably do it wrong as the files must be in two folders
Secondly you open folder with the 4 unzipped files, Gunship.exe, Readme.txt, Custom.ini and flt1.ini
Copy/paste Gunship.exe and Readme.txt to C:\Program Files\ Microprose\Gunship!. (Or an other location where you have your Gunship! folder). Say Y to owerwrite.
Copy/paste Custom.ini and flt1.ini to the DATA folder below the Gunship! folder.
Fly a short single player mission and reboot and it is ready.
It is necessary for Multiplayer even though some of the newer versions of Gunship has the possibility, it seems to be better this way in case you want to play Multiplayer in the MSN Zone DirectPlay space.

In case you can't make it work right, anyone of the moderators or m8's will help you and remember, we all learned from someone or another.
Also please remember, that sometimes you get booted even though your patch is installed correctly.
So do not give up, and remember no matter your game ver. the US Patch as above will work.
Remember, if you reinstall your game, you need to reinstall the patch too.
